The Greater Indianapolis Athletic Conference consists of 11 mostly charter schools that have some players looking to play at the next level. The conference consists of: Tindley, Manual, Purdue Polytechnic, Victory Prep, Irvington Prep, Indianapolis Metro, IMSA- North, Eminence, Cristel House Academy, George Washington and Riverside. This weekend, they will crown a champion at Indianapolis Metro High School and Prep Ball Stars will be doing the livestream of the games. A few teams aren’t playing this week due to Covid but it should still be a great tournament. Here is a preview of those games tonight and the matchups:
George Washington vs. Purdue Polytechnic at Howe – 6:00 pm
Sophomore JuJu Primus #13 and Kevin Brodley (leading scorer at 12.3 points per game) look to lead Poly tonight. Lawrence (11.8 points) is also tough. Washington has only two seniors (Donovan Johnson and Isaac Liggons) and are the favorites tonight.
Tindley vs. Manual – 7:30 pm
Manual will not play tonight due to Covid so Tindley moves to the semis. They have some talent in junior Aaron Humphrey, senior guard Jashawn Bates and high flying sophomore Jaden Pinkston. Sophomore guard Billy Brown is also a lights out shooter.
Riverside vs. Indy Met at Christel House – 6:00 pm
Riverside is favored by the seeding but Indy Met comes in with a lot of size and confidence. Sophomore center David Meriwether is 6’10” with a lot of potential. Junior Derek Anderson is also a capable scorer.
Eminence vs. Christel House at Christel House- 7:30 pm
Eminence gained some confidence last night with a win over IMSA – North, but Christel House is in their building. They are lead by Donnie Pruitt (24 points per game), Ashton Starkey (15 points per game) and William Kinslow (11.5 points per game).
Tindley will play the winner of the George Washington/Purdue Polytechnic winner, and the winners at Christel House will face off tomorrow in the semi finals at Indianapolis Metro High School. Prep Ball Stars will be doing the livestream of the games. The semi-final games are at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, and the championship will be at 7:00 pm. You can watch the livestreams at either the Prep Ball Stars Facebook Page or Prep Ball Stars YouTube Page.
