I caught all kinds of good natured smoke from parents for picking Lawrence Central to beat Lawrence North, but that’s alright. In order to be right, you have to be willing to wrong. I’m about 80% on predictions. So who gets buckets on a Friday night in Indiana? Let’s take a look:
Brownsburg at Lawrence North
The Wildcats are riding high after clocking their rival and #1 Lawrence Central 2 days ago. Tony Perkins (30 points) showed out early and often and junior teammates Shamar Avance and DJ Hughes backed him up with 20 and 19 points, respectively. Lawrence North showed what they are capable of. Brownsburg (4-0) is a serious threat with high flying junior Pierce Thomas and 6’5″ senior Malek Edmonds. Is Lawrence North ripe for a let down and a beat down? Prep Ball Stars says no. LN takes the win to roll to 4-0 – 72-65.
Culver Academies at Zionsville
This may be Culver’s (4-0) toughest test so far in the season. Trey Galloway is one of the favorites for Mr. Basketball for Culver. Senior Anthony Scales is an underrated talent for Zionsville (1-1). Culver is playing class 4A #2 Bloomington South tomorrow so this could be another trap game. I will take Culver in a close one – 58-55.
Franklin Central at Ben Davis
Franklin Central and veteran first year coach Criss Beyers comes in with youth served and likely a year away from greatness. Freshman Jalen Hooks
