Friday Night Predictions!

It’s the first real Friday night of the season with a loaded schedule and lots of good games on tap. Here is Prep Ball Stars predictions for five around Indiana:

Bloomington South at Bedford North Lawrence

Mr. Basketball candidate Anthony Leal looks to make a statement tonight for Bloomington South. Senior point guard Brayton Bailey will be looking also to lead his team. I will take B South in this one – 62-51.

Ben Davis at Pike

This one should have plenty of fireworks with no shot clock needed. The first outing for BD didn’t go so well as they took a loss to Fishers at home. Can Jackson Gowdy stay on the floor tonight and out of foul trouble and lead them? Can Robert Fry II continue to stuff the stat sheet? Pike’s Davian Bailey started the season right for Pike with 23 points and the win. I will take Pike in a close one – 67-63.

Brownsburg at Franklin Central

Head coach Criss Beyers moves over to Franklin Central from Warren and has (among others) heralded freshman Jalen Hooks. Brownsburg is led by Pierce Thomas and 6’6″ senior Malek Edmonds. I will pick Brownsburg to make it 2-0 – 59-51.

Carmel at Lawrence Central

I will be covering this game. Mr. Basketball candidates Nijel Pack and DeAndre Davis are 0-2 versus Carmel, the defending state champs. Carmel has some solid young talent left led by sophomore guard Peter Suder. It won’t be 0-3 for LC tonight. I think they win big at home – 74-55.

Hamilton Southeastern at Avon

This is always a great matchup no matter the players. 7’0″ senior center Mabor Majak looks to lead HSE, along with senior Kole Hornbuckle. Junior Jayden Brewer is a highlight play every night. Sophomores Antonio Lisenbee and Crishon McCray look to help. I like Avon to get back on track after a loss to Mooresville – 64-60.
